Camera, SD Card and SD Card Reader

To film our music video required using a traditional media technology of a camera and Ceri and I filmed our final music video on a Canon 5D Mark II and used the 17-40mm f/4l lens. During our draft filming we had experimented and tried using the Canon 5D Mark III and various lenses; however we chose to use the Mark II (which is a digital single-lens reflex camera) and 17-40mm lens for our final music video.  We chose these technologies as this was the lighter camera of the two, making it much easier for Ceri and I to operate, and the lens allowed us the amount of zoom that we wanted. By testing and trying different technologies Ceri and I were able to adapt and learn about different technologies, as Ceri and I had had little experience using this type of camera before. While this was a massive learning curve, Ceri and I enjoyed developing our knowledge and were able find which camera suited us best. By using a respectable camera brand and camera Ceri and I were able to film our music video within the high quality and cleanliness that we wanted, to make our music video look as professional as possible. This was very important and helpful in creating the most professional music video that we could, demonstrating how our use of media technologies within the production stage was vital to the creation of our final video. Ceri and I also used our own memory card of the SanDisk Ultra PLUS 16GB to film our footage onto and a PureMedia USB 2.0 Memory Card Reader which allowed us to transfer the footage onto Ceri’s iMac. Both of these technologies worked alongside the camera, as without each component we would have been unable to film. This balance of media technologies allowed Ceri and I created both our draft and final music video to standard we wanted to achieve with more ease and efficiency.
